Getting Ready / Tips

  • PREPARATION BEFORE THE AUDITION

    ACTIVELY TRAIN IN YOUR CRAFT
    • No matter what your artistic discipline, keep striving for perfection. There is always room for improvement and we would love to see you at your best.

    CHOOSE THE RIGHT AUDITION MATERIAL
    • For singers, please prepare sheet music that fits your personality and range (an accompanist will be provided). Don’t be afraid to express yourself! If asked to prepare something of ours, practice before-hand so you can sound your best.

    PREPARE YOUR CALLING CARD
    • Remember to bring an A4 size headshot (photo) of yourself and a resume/CV that lists your training and experience. Make sure it’s up to date (no photos older than a year). It can be stressful to do this the morning of the audition, so do yourself a favour and get it ready well ahead of time. Note: we will need to keep these items.

    MORNING OF AUDITION

    DRESS YOUR BEST
    • Clothes don’t make the man, but we want you to look and feel confident. If you’re a dancer, we will want to see body lines and body shape, so please avoid overly baggy clothes.

    STAY HEALTHY AND HYDRATED
    • Our audition days can be long, so make sure to eat a good breakfast. Pack a water bottle and a snack too. You can’t perform your best without the proper fuel.

    ARRIVE ON TIME
    • You don’t want to be late for your audition! Arrive early and relax a bit.

    AT THE AUDITION

    CHECK IN EARLY
    • Hopefully, you’ve registered online already so the check-in process should be a breeze. Simply approach the check-in table with your headshot and resume and our monitor will get you signed in. If you didn’t register online, there will be some additional paperwork to fill out. Please bring a pen.

    BE YOURSELF
    • Showing your personality is key for us to help cast you in the perfect role. Remember, the audition starts the moment you walk in the door.

    LISTEN CLOSELY
    • Attention to detail is very important in an audition. Being able to follow instructions is just as important as your talent.

    CONFIDENCE IS KEY
    • The casting team is excited to find new talent, and we are cheering you on! Make sure you are just as confident in yourself as we are in your ability to succeed!

    HAVE FUN
    • Smile, have a good time, and help us create some extraordinary moments. You’ll feel better if you do
